BONTNEWYDD moved up to second in the Gwynedd League standings with a thumping 8-0 home success over Llanllyfni.

The title chasers got off to a strong start and were two-up within the opening 11 minutes through strikes from Tomos Owen and Daniel Evans, and the latter was on hand to treble their tally a minute before the half hour mark.

Bont sealed the points just before the break when Rob Daniels netted his first of the afternoon on 44 minutes, and the same player netted twice more after the interval so seal his hat-trick.
