BRO Goronwy’s hopes of securing the Gwynedd League title suffered a near-fatal blow as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Gwalchmai.
Despite the eventual result it was the home side that started bright and went ahead on five minutes when Andy Williams struck, but they were pegged back soon after when Corey Sinnott levelled matters on 15.
The visitors were now fully in the ascendancy and went ahead for the first time on tha half hour mark courtesy of an Osian Jones strike to seal the success, which leaves Bro two points behind Holyhead Town having played a game more than their rivals.
Bontnewydd kept their title charge going with a 4-1 triumph at Menai Bridge Tigers thanks to brace apiece from Daniel Evans and Gareth Edwards, while Meurig Parry and Rhys Davies both struck twice for Waunfawr in their sensational 8-0 rout over Talysarn Celts.
Luke Roberts managed to secure a treble for Llangoed in their 4-0 victory over Beaumaris Town, with Nathaniel Evans rounding off the scoring on 86 minutes after another prolonged period of possession.
Rounding off the midweek fixtures throughout the division, Nefyn United turned in one of their finest displays of the campaign to come away with a 5-0 win at Llanllyfni.
A two-goal salvo from Ifan Jones did the majority of the damage, with Tristan Parry, Meical Williams and a Mark Dunn penalty completing the rout.
