LLANYSTUMDWY gained revenge on Nefyn United in a 3-2 home victory over their Gwynedd League rivals.

After being knocked out of the NWCFA Junior Cup by the visitors just last weekend, Llan were looking to put things right but fell behind on 42 minutes when Mark Dunn found the net.

After the break saw the home side come out with a renewed sense of purpose and they levelled matters on 49 minutes through Sion Parry, and Darren Parry converted an opportunity on 51 to put them in the ascendancy.

United responded well to the setback and got back on level terms courtesy of a Michael Williams effort on the hour mark, but the impressive Darren Parry had the final say with his second of the afternoon on 70 minutes to round off the scoring.

In-form Gwalchmai picked up a valuable win on their travels to triumph 3-1 at Talysarn, with Mark Griffiths (2) and Chris Saxon on the scoresheet, while a brace from Shaun Roberts was the highlight of Waunfawr’s 3-2 success over Llanllyfni.

Holyhead Town advanced to the next stage of the Junior Cup thanks to a thumping 5-0 victory at Llangoed, and Bontnewydd also booked their place in the hat with a 2-1 win at Caergybi.
