BRO Goronwy advanced in the Bob Owen Memorial Shield sponsored by Snowdonia Fire Protection with an impressive 5-3 win at Holyhead Town.

The visitors got off to a flyer and went ahead on seven minutes when Andy Williams found the net, and Bro managed to double their lead on the half hour mark thanks to a Dylan Jones strike following another prolonged spell of possession.

After the break saw the away side continue to flourish going forward, with Callum Thomas the beneficiary of some outstanding approach play to fire home a third on 48 minutes.

This finally provoked the Harbourmen into some improved play and they got back into the contest with two goals in quick succession, which arrived courtesy of Dale Murphy and Barrie Lavelle midway through the half.

The Gwynedd League leaders responded well to the setback and managed to restore a two-goal cushion briefly when Crawyn Williams finished well on 80 minutes, only for Leeroy Parry to peg them back yet again on 85.

Owain Griffiths managed to have the final say for the visitors with a quick breakaway effort on 89 minutes to complete the scoring and book their place in the hat for the next round.
