IT has been another Huws Gray Alliance season full of drama and quality, with Caernarfon Town finally managing to reach the big-time and achieve promotion to the JD Welsh Premier League.

Sports reporter Dean Jones picks out some of the standout players that have caught the eye in his annual Team of the Year.

Goalkeeper: Rory Crowther (Rhyl)

The Lilywhites enjoyed a frustrating season of inconsistency on the most part, but one thing that really stood out was the impressive talent of their gifted shot stopper.

He turned in a number of exceptional displays throughout the season that kept the Lilies in the top two hunt during a resurgent second half of the campaign, and his efforts have seen him continue to establish himself as one of the most gifted goalkeepers operating in the Welsh pyramid.

Right back: Joe Williams (Caernarfon Town)

Not many work harder than the Cofis’ full-back, who has once again been at his consistent best to become a prominent feature within the squad.

He has been a huge contributing factor in their promotion and manager Sean Eardley can be confident that Williams will be able to cope with the rigours of the JD Welsh Premier League against higher quality opposition.

Centre Back: Clive Williams (Caernarfon Town)

Williams is one of the most underrated players anywhere in the country, and his versatility and ability to lead by example have seen him become one of the top performers in the second tier this term.

His assured demeanour and calmness in critical situations were the catalyst behind Town’s lengthy unbeaten run during a difficult series of fixtures during the winter, and he is another that is set to thrive in the top flight.

Centre Back: Steve Tomasson (Airbus Broughton)

The Wingmakers have flattered to deceive after holding lofty ambitions at the start of the campaign, but Tomasson has been a formidable presence at the back throughout.

His organisational skills are matched by his overall ability and he can be enormously proud of the way he has performed this season.

Left Back: Steve Thomas (Holywell Town)

Thomas’ energy and ability to join in with attacks have been a key component in the Wellmen’s success this term, and the fan favourite has enjoyed a memorable campaign he can be enormously proud of.

His delivery from wide areas is exceptional and he also demonstrates exceptional man-marking abilities, something that will be crucial to any further success that comes the way of Johnny Haseldin's side in the future.

Midfield: Craig Pritchard (Denbigh Town)

A Welsh futsal international, Pritchard has been a leading light in the HGA this season and his influence at Central Park cannot be underestimated.

His ability to create something from nothing makes him stand out despite being involved with a very talented group of players, and he has chipped in with a few vital goals along the way which have also aided his team considerably.

Midfield: Nathan Craig (Caernarfon Town)

Arguably the most outstanding player in the entire league this season, Craig is at the heart of everything good at The Oval both on-and-off the pitch and there will be nobody more deserving of lifting the title if, as expected, the Canaries clinch the championship this week.

His gifts on the ball are there for all to see, and with 17 goals to his name he has once again shown why he is an indispensable member of the Town set-up.

Midfield: Sion Bradley (Porthmadog)

Port have enjoyed a decent season and Bradley has been key to this with a large number of outstanding individual efforts that have seen his side secure some eye-catching results.

The playmaker has been both a creator and goalscorer this season with 14 league goals so far, and his ability to take over a game at any given moment is something that sets him apart from the majority of players operating at the same position within the division.

Forward: Darren Thomas (Caernarfon Town)

Not much more can be said about the mercurial Thomas, who has now achieved his dream of reaching the WPL with his hometown club.

There are not many better with the ball at their feet, and his commitment to dig in for the team is another factor that have made him such a cult figure with the Cofi Army.

Forward: Joe Chaplin (Porthmadog)

Big things were expected of Chaplin when he arrived at Port from Conwy Borough at the start of the season, and the talented striker has definitely lived up to the lofty expectations.

His return of 16 league goals would have been more had it not been for a short time on the sidelines through injury, and if he continues to develop at his current rate then the sky is the limit in terms of what he can achieve in the future.

Forward: Llyr Morris (Ruthin Town)

Morris is not the league’s top scorer by accident. He is an absolute nightmare for defenders to come up against and is lethal when presented with an opportunity.

Town manager Chris Williams may have a fight on his hands to keep hold of his prize asset during the summer, with Morris turning plenty of heads this season with his marvellous return in-front of goal.

Substitutes: Alex Ramsay (Caernarfon Town), Max Peate (Gresford Athletic), Paul Williams (Holywell Town), Danny Brookwell (Caernarfon Town), Jamie Breese (Caernarfon Town), Mark Connolly (Rhyl), Richie Foulkes (Flint Town United), Stewart Carroll (Rhyl), Danny Sullivan (Denbigh Town), Steve Lewis (Holywell Town), Ryan Edwards (Airbus Broughton), Asa Hamilton (Guilsfield), Alfons Fosu-Mensah (Airbus Broughton), Gareth Evans (Caernarfon Town).
