BODEDERN dug deep to seal a dramatic four-run home win over North Wales Cricket League Division Two rivals Buckley.

The hosts set a target of 161-8 from their allotted 45 overs at the crease, with opener Nathan Goodright producing another accomplished knock before he was run out by Steven Eltham one run shy of his half century.

Other scores of note came from Dewi Hood and wicketkeeper Martin Roberts, who contributed 28 and 26 to the overall score, while skipper Jordan Taylor was another to reach double figures with a promising 23.

Blake Thomas (16) also came up with some valuable lower order runs, with Lee Taylor the pick of the visiting bowlers to end an outstanding nine over spell with figures of 4-24.

The home bowling tandem of Thomas and Taylor were at their consistent best throughout to lead their side to a narrow victory, with the former helping himself to four wickets for the loss for the loss of 32 runs.

He was ably assisted by the Bod captain, who took three scalps at the expense of 24 runs, and Bryn Hughes took out the dangerous Joseph Norman for 48 during a critical stage of the innings as the away side made 157 all out in reply.

Next up for Bod is a trip to early pacesetters Gwersyllt Park on Saturday, who hold a 100 per cent record from their opening five contests.
