BODEDERN were unable to claim their second North Wales Cricket League Division Two win of the season after falling to a heavy nine-wicket loss at Carmel and District.

The visitors made just 88 all out from their time at the crease following a disappointing display, with Matthew Jackson’s 24 the only real highlight until he was caught off a Nick Hughes delivery.

Only one other batsman made it into double figures, with skipper Jordan Taylor managing to contribute 17 off 41 deliveries during the middle order collapse.

Derek Johnson was the pick of the home bowlers, helping himself to three wickets for the loss of just 15 runs, with Evan Collett taking a brace late on at the expense of seven.

Despite opening bowler Danny Williams taking the coveted scalp of Daniel Owens early on when he was dismissed for 14, the hosts managed to reach their required total with minimal fuss after 23 overs thanks to unbeaten knocks of 35 and 32 from Dafydd Bailey and Gwion Dafydd.

Taylor’s men will be hoping for better fortune this Saturday when they welcome promotion hopefuls Buckley.
