CAERNARFON Town manager Sean Eardley could not hide his delight after his side secured an elusive promotion to the JD Welsh Premier League.

The rookie boss took over from Iwan Williams earlier on in the season and has led the Cofis on an incredible run of form that has finally sealed their place at the top of the Welsh pyramid.

This achievement marks a huge community effort from players and staff, with the club securing the FAW Domestic Licence after months of hard work by the committee to make the dream a reality.

Eardley, said: “I’m over the moon to have gained promotion and thank my players and management and players immensely for their efforts.

“For me personally it’s an unbelievable start to my managerial career and it’s been a massive learning curve at every stage of the season.

“I’m made up for the board members, volunteers and of course the fantastic supporters. We can prepare to go toe to toe with the teams in the JD Welsh Premier League now and it’s certainly something everyone should be looking forward to.”

Club captain and hometown hero Nathan Craig will get the chance to lift the title if his side can defeat Llandudno Junction on Wednesday, and he was keen to thank the three committee members that saved the club from possible extinction less than a decade ago.

“I must put on record without Arfon, Earnie and Ger Bach and all the local lads that kept this massive club going eight years ago, without them stepping in we wouldn’t be where we are today,” he added.

“I must also give credit to all the lads too as we received the worst possible new couple seasons ago when we won the Cymru Alliance but were refused the License, but we stuck together, re-grouped and have been rewarded by being promoted.

“I know Caernarfon Town will take supporters wherever we will play and also I know they will come in numbers when we play at home to make The Oval a fortress.”
