CAERNARFON Town have received a significant boost with the news that manager Sean Eardley has agreed to remain at the club.

The Canaries announced the news on Tuesday, April 4, with Eardley leading his side to within touching distance of the JD Welsh Premier League after an impressive run of form since taking over in November.

Attention will now turn to securing their place in the top flight and winning the Huws Gray Alliance title, and the Cofis can take another giant leap this Saturday when they travel to Ruthin Town (2.30pm).

The former Llandudno coach, said: “It’s been unbelievable, a long journey but one everyone is on board with.

“The Cofi Army have really take to me and my family which was a huge factor in my decision to stay on. From a personal point of view it is fantastic but there is still a lot of work to be done.

“We have four games to play but I am looking forward to stamping my own mark on the squad next year and there is a real feel good factor around the place now.

“Every week has been a learning curve as each HGA team presents a different challenge, and trying to keep all the squad happy from a man management level has also been a challenge, but it is one I have enjoyed and I think thrived upon. Caernarfon Town is a massive club and the pressure that comes with as we try and reach the WPL is something I enjoy.

The club also announced that the current management team will also remain in place, with Richard Davies, Mike Innes, Rhys Jones and Alex Philp agreeing to remain at The Oval.

“The players and management team have been different class and the way they have bought into my beliefs has been really refreshing,” added Eardley.

“I have never taken life too seriously as I think the players appreciate that approach, and whether we are in the WPL or the HGA I am simply grateful for the opportunity.

“There won’t be too many changes as I want to get over the line and win the championship, but we aren’t there yet. I do want them to remain together as they are a pleasure to work with.”
