CAERNARFON Town have issued a statement regarding the upcoming evening with England icon Paul Gascoigne.

Confusion surrounded the event following the departure of commercial manager Tristam Lee, with those purchasing tickets looking for clarification on the evening from the Huws Gray Alliance frontrunners.

However, the Cofis have stated that the event is still going ahead, although they will be contacting Mr Lee “as a matter of urgency” to get the matter formally resolved.

A club statement, said: “Following recent enquiries regarding the ‘Evening with Paul Gascoigne’ event that our former commercial manager Tristram Lee has organised, we wish to make it clear that, as far as we are concerned, the evening will be going ahead as planned.

“Although we decided not to renew Tristram’s contract with us he made it clear to us that he would be continuing with this special event and, as we have not received any information to the contrary, we expect it to go ahead as advertised.

“In light of recent enquiries however, we will seek clarification from Tristram as a matter of urgency and will make a further statement on the matter as soon as we possibly can.

“Should anyone have any queries regarding the event or about tickets already purchased, please contact Tristram directly at this time on 07473 625530, on Twitter (TRIS83LEE).”
