CAERNARFON Town and Denbigh Town square off on Saturday for a huge clash at the top of the Huws Gray Alliance.

The title rivals clash at Central Park with Sean Eardley’s side enjoying a seven-point cushion over their opponents, although Eddie Maurice-Jones’ men do have a game in hand.

Sports reporter Dean Jones examines the key battles that will decide what could be a pulsating clash.

Josh Davies vs Clive Williams:

This will undoubtedly be one to watch and could have a huge say in which way this contest will go.

Davies has been in ruthless form so far this term and has the capability to bully a back four all on his own when he is firing on all cylinders, but in Williams he comes up against one of the most consistent performers in the second tier and someone that has been a huge contributing factor in the Cofis’ success.

Craig Pritchard vs Nathan Craig:

Both Pritchard and Craig are hugely influential for their respective sides, and it is a mouthwatering clash between two of the most talented players anywhere outside of the Welsh pyramid.

The Canaries skipper has arguably been the top performer in the HGA and has fired home a superb 14 goals this season thanks in no small part to his ability from set-pieces.

Pritchard, a Welsh futsal international, is a classy operator with the ball at his feet and can cause anybody problems, and a lot of the good that Town achieve going forward comes from his creativity.

Jay Gibbs vs Warren Duckett:

Games like this are often won or lost in the middle of the park, and the battle between Duckett and Gibbs could take centre stage in this top-of-the-table encounter.

Duckett boasts a wealth of experience at JD Welsh Premier League level and has performed to an extremely high standard once again this season, but in mercurial playmaker Gibbs he faces a stern test against a player that has the capability to take over a game in the blink of an eye.

Jonathan Hill-Dunt vs Alex Ramsay:

Goalkeepers are crucial factors in a tight game such as this, and both clubs have dependable options that can be relied upon to perform on the big stage.

Both Hill-Dunt and Ramsay have proven their worth at the very highest level of the national game, and their efforts this term have been nothing short of exceptional.

Kristian Pierce vs Joe Williams:

The duel between Pierce and Williams is another that could be a deciding factor, and again these are two of the very best operating at their position.

On his day Pierce is virtually unstoppable and moving back to his hometown club has given him a new lease of life after a season in the top flight at Rhyl.

Williams will test him enormously at both ends of the field, with his boundless energy giving Eardley another impressive option to have at his disposal during critical times during close games.

Ben Nash vs Jamie Breese:

After a difficult start to the season, Breese has reverted to type over the past few weeks and is now once again one of the most feared hitmen operating within the division.

He leads the line better than anyone and is a cool customer when presented with a chance, but Nash has been at the top of his game for Town this season and will have to be at his very best once again if he is going to stop the formidable striker from making his presence felt.
