BANGOR City will hold a fan forum next week to discuss their impending relegation to the Huws Gray Alliance.

Director of football Stephen Vaughan Junior announced the meeting via Twitter shortly after the decision from the Football Association of Wales to reject their appeal for a Domestic Licence.

The decision will see the Citizens operating within the second-tier next term despite the possibility of a top two finish should they beat Bala Town tomorrow night, which Vaughan Junior stated he is also attending.

Vaughan Junior said: “Absolutely gutted about today's news and two years’ hard work down the drain! “Read a lot of abuse on my timeline. People saying a lot of things wide of the mark. Will be at the game tomorrow and will do a fans forum on Monday night at the club.

“The Welsh FA are not happy with two certain points, and I will say what they were in the fans’ meeting on Monday. With regards my family don't always believe what you read.”

FAW officials stated they were not satisfied that City had “not rectified” the initial financial concerns raised by the governing body, which was the reason behind the rejection.

A statement, read: In relation to Bangor City, the Appeals Body upheld the decision of the First Instance Body to refuse both the UEFA and Tier 1 Licences.

“The Appeals Body were not satisfied that Bangor City has rectified the original concerns of the First Instance Body. As a consequence, Bangor City will be demoted to Tier 2 of the Welsh football pyramid for the 2018/19 season. In addition, the club will not be permitted to participate in the JD Welsh Premier League Europa League Play-Offs.”

The meeting is set to be held at the clubhouse from 7pm, which is expected to draw a large crowd of frustrated supporters who will be demanding answers following their demotion.

All Bangor City fans are welcome to attend.
