BANGOR City have pulled off a transfer coup with the signing of striker Alex Darlington from The New Saints of Oswestry Town.
The 29-year-old has penned a deal with the Citizens until the end of the 2018/19 campaign and becomes the latest big name arrival since the appointment of manager Kevin Nicholson.
Darlington broke through the youth ranks with hometown club Wrexham before signing professional terms at the Racecourse, but two successive leg breaks led to his release.
He then joined The New Saints and made his debut in a UEFA Cup tie against Lithuanian outfit FK Suduva.
During his ten season tenure at Park Hall, Darlington collected seven JD Welsh Premier League titles and four Welsh Cup winners medals.
The talented forward netted 94 goals in his 234 WPL appearances for the Saints, and also received call-ups to the Wales Under-23 semi-professional squad.
Capable of playing as a striker or in a deep-lying forward role, Darlington will wear the number eight shirt for The Citizens.
He is expected to be named in the City squad for their Phase Two opener against Cardiff Met on Saturday (4.15pm) as they resume their pursuit of European football next term.
