BANGOR City have confirmed that forward Anderson Cayola has been released.

The forward’s contract has not been renewed by the JD Welsh Premier League side, and he has wasted no time in attempting to secure a new beginning with another side on the continent.

Bolivian-born Cayola joined The Citizens in July 2017, having impressed during a trial period after being scouted whilst in the UK with the LSA (Learning Soccer Academy) during the summer.

He made his full debut in the opening WPL win over The New Saints of Oswestry Town, providing an assist for the opening goal before converting a late penalty as City beat the reigning champions 5-2.

Overall, Cayola made five full and three substitute appearances during his time under Kevin Nicholson, in addition to turning out in Nathaniel MG Cup and JD Welsh Cup ties including netting one of the goals in the 4-3 win over Cwmamman United in the latter competition.

Cayola has now been invited to trial with Maltese Premier League club Birkirkara FC, and a club spokesman said: “We would like to record its thanks for his services to the club and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
