MACNEIL Morgan returned to Ty Newydd to boost Bangor to their second premier division win of the season in the Readers Romida North Wales Cricket League.

The popular West Indian, who helped Bangor to two of their premier three titles, arrived in the UK the day before and was quickly among the runs and the wickets against Pontblyddyn.

Put in to bat, Andy Williams (27) and Qasim Ijaz (28) gave the
hosts a solid start with 59 for the first wicket before Freddie Afridi (62) and Kevin Williams (43) came together for the third to add 64.

A couple of quick wickets then brought Morgan to the crease and he opened his shoulders to smite a trademark six in his quickfire unbeaten 21 to help Bangor declare on 219 for 6 after fifty overs.

Charles Fernando's three wickets cost him 82 runs and Mark Neath took 2 for 39.

Morgan had dangerman Glen Chambers out quickly and followed up with the wicket of Fernando as the visitors slumped to 36 for 4.

Pontblyddyn mounted a bit of recovery spearheaded by opener Phil Davies, who topscored on 53, Jules Morris chipped in with 20 and Charles Moss 35, defying Bangor's attempts of securing the win.

However, Morgan came back to break the resistance and ended with 4 for 43 as the visitors were back in the pavilion for 155, Raj Britto (2 for 10), Peter Banham (2 for 15) and Sion Gwynn (2 for 30) all chipping in for the 28 points to three win.
**
BETHESDA enjoyed a maximum points haul at Hawarden Park after being put in by the hosts.

Alex Robynson (64) and Robbie Creek (45) gave the Parc Villa outfit the perfect start with an opening stand of 112, with Nick Roberts maintaining the momentum with 39, Gerallt Jones (21no) accelerating the rate to allow Bethesda to declare on 229 for 7.

Sixteen year-old James Hurlin took 3 for 26 for the hosts.

James Pockett (36) and Ian Martin (31) steadied the home ship after the two openers went relatively cheaply, but no one was able to come to terms with Kevin Evans (4 for 45) and Danny Creek (2 for 31), although number 9 Campbell Marr (29 not out) delayed the inevitable as Hawarden Park were back in the pavilion for 150 and a 5-30 deficit.
**
BANGOR seconds enjoyed a 66 run success at Northop seconds in division two after Raf Davies (41) and David Hughes (31) laid the foundations of 177 for 7 with a second wicket stand of 73.

Simon Wilson (32no) steadied the ship after four wickets fell cheaply with Jamie Davies chipping in with an unbeaten 18.

Darren Williams took 3 for 25 and made 21 when Northop responded, Jordan Evans and Rhys Hayes both emulating the score, but the hosts were back in the pavilion for the dreaded Nelson of 111.

Hughes took 3 for 25 with Janie Davies, Gareth Edwards and Chris Jones all snapping up a couple of wickets apiece.
**
MENAI Bridge First Hydro seconds rewrote the record books in division three against Castell Alun.

Dave Wilcoxson plundered 162 – just eight runs short of a club record – and Stuart Williams was still there on 125 when Bridge finished on a mammoth 336 for 1.

A. Mackay (33), R.Riley (31) and Simon Brewman (30) put up some defiance but the visitors were limited to 176 for 9, Steve Jones taking 3 for 30 and Danny Surgey 2 for 48.

Paul Lucas Estate Agents sponsored the match ball.
Anglesey Aluminium returned to winning ways with a 26 run success over Shotton.

Matt Jackson top scored with 58, Chris Rowlands contributing 28 to the total of 169 for 9 and Alan Evans took 5 for 49.

Barry Threadgold (56) threatened for the visitors but Phil Westall (4 for 25) and Ben Hull (3 for 14) spearheaded the home attack that had the visitors back in the pavilion for 143.
**
Bodedern returned from Mold seconds on the wrong end of a 2-8 points split in division four after the hosts posted 137 mainly due to the efforts of Keith Embleton (33), Brian Jones picking up 4 for 28 and Tony Hughes 3 for 36.

Embleton then got among the Bodedern batting to finish with 4 for 20, James Jones (20) and Geraint Jones (10 not out) offering the stiffest resistance.
**
Menai Bridge First Hydro thirds slumped to a 10-0 points defeat at Rhewl seconds, who posted 173 for 8, Reuben Maereivot taking 4 for 22.

Meirion Owen (25) was the only member of the young visiting side to threaten as Bridge were bowled out for 71.
