BANGOR City's Les Davies scored the only goal for the Citizens on a difficult night at the Racecourse.
The 'runaway truck' briefly brought his side level against Danish league runners-up FC Midtjylland, following Danish international Mikkel Thygesen's 18th minute opener.

However, his strike was eclipsed towards the end of the half, when New Zealander Winston Reid restored the visitors' lead.

After the interval a ten minute second half hat-trick from Kim Christensen put the first leg tie beyond Bangor's reach, and a late second from Thygesen completed the rout.

City now face a daunting trip to Midtjylland's SAS Arena in Herning on July 31, and will need to produce something special to avoid an eighth exit at this stage of the competition.
