TALYSARN Celts produced a shock in the semi final of the Gwynedd Safeflue Cup by beating Caernarfon Boro 3-1 on their own patch.

Everything looked to be going to plan when Boro led by a goal from Stephen Barry Hughes five minutes from the break, but Robin Humphries levelled on seventy minutes and Rob Daniels nudged Celts ahead ten minutes from time and there was no way back
when Scott Hughes netted five minutes later.

An Owain Ellis strike on the hour was enough to give Nefyn Utd Reserves the points in their Safeflue Caernarfon & District second division match.

LLANLLYFNI edged further ahead at the top of the Gwynedd League as defending champions Barmouth & Dyffryn Utd were busy lifting the North Wales Junior Cup.

A 5-2 verdict over Blaenau Ffestiniog Reserves put the league leaders 16 points clear, but Barmouth have seven matches in hand.

David Parry bagged a brace with the nap hand made up of goals from Rhys Roberts, Emyr Williams and Chris Parry.

Late goals from Darren Rowlands and Dion Roberts earned Gaerwen a 3-2 edge at Llanfairfechan Town who lead by a David Williams brace against a goal from Chris Bennett.

Beaumaris Town bagged the bragging rights in the Anglesey clash against Llangefni Town Reserves, Adam Jones, Shaun Monument, Karl Roberts (penalty) and Cameron Kelly completing a 4-0 scoreline.

Bethel edged out Real Llandudno 2-1 courtesy of goals from Gavin Jennings and Morgan Roberts, whose winner came two minutes from time.

Barmouth beat Llanystumdwy 2-0 in the final of the NWCFA Junior Cup
with goals from Andy Papirnyk and Dan Griffith.

AMLWCH Town threw themselves a lifeline with a 3-1 victory over Llanrwst Utd in the Welsh Alliance.

Goals from Sam Carter, Danny Bull (pen) and Steve Mason overturned a spot kick opener from Lee Allen on 24 minutes, but the Anglesey club are still occupying a relegation spot.

At the other end of the table, champions Bethesda Athletic were thankful for an own goal for a point at Llandudno Junction in a 1-1 share, while runners up Glan Conwy drew 2-2 at Llanberis who had led by goals from David Jones and Lee Hughes in the first quarter of the game.

Strikes from Gareth and Caron Williams straight after the break laid the foundations for Nefyn Utd's 3-0 victory over Conwy Utd, Jason Jones adding a last minute goal.

Nantlle Vale drew 0-0 at Halkyn Utd and honours were also even at Llanrug Utd who shared six goals equally with Rhydymwyn.

Chris Jarvis, David Noel Williams and Terry Williams were on target for the Llanrug after the visitors led by efforts from Darren Johnson and Jamie Lee Roberts on 32 minutes.

GOALS galore came in two island encounters last Saturday led by a triple treble in Pentraeth's 10-1 rout of Valley in the Stena Line Anglesey League.

Cory Sinnott, Tristan Lee and Nathan Lloyd all hit hat-tricks with Delwyn Jones completing the home tally.

Meanwhile, Gwalchmai ran riot against Llanfairpwll Reserves in the Elias Cup with trebles from Craig Evans and Mark Griffiths, Mark Jones completing a 7-1 verdict.

Phil McGrath netted Llanfairpwll's consolation and Gwalchmai meet Llanerchymedd on Saturday in the semi-final.
