BEAUMARIS A maintained their bright start to the North Wales Coast Bowls League season with a 10-4 verdict over St Asaph A in Section A.

Brian Begley and Barry Harris both carded 21-7 as the hosts enjoyed five single figure successes.

Alan Johnson (21-4) helped Bangor City shade the aggregate by three points to earn a 7-7 share at Denbigh A, but Caernarfon were 5-9 losers at Penmaenmawr.

Derek Stanley (21-4) and Terry Morris (21-8) impressed for Beaumaris B in the Section B 5-9 reverse at Dyserth, while Bethesda lost by the same margin at Llandudno A.

However, Llanfairpwll had better fortunes as Richard Harvey (21-7) spearheaded the 11-3 win at Abergele.
