BANGOR seconds almost paid for dropping Ruthin opener Steve Jones twice as the visitors came within ten runs of matching their hosts' total of 178 for 6.

Mike Randall (49no) and Simon Wilson (46) steadied the home innings that had teetered on 59 for 6, Raf Davies also contributing 34, but Jones hit 90 to steer Ruthin to 168 for 6 with John Tudor unbeaten on 21.

Surgey took a couple of wickets apiece to limit Marchwiel seconds to 96 for 8, opener Owen Ward carrying his bat for 54, then Chris Williams (46no) and Kevin Owen (26no) steered the division three leaders to 100 for 1.

Anglesey Aluminium remain second following a thrilling three wicket win at Denbigh seconds.

Chris Dawson (2 for 18) and Shah Sisa (2 for 31) were the pick of the visiting attack as the hosts posted 174 for 6, Joe Welsh making 52, then Phil Westall (34) Dawson (33), Sisa (32) and Tom Hull (27) saw the works side home at 175 for 7.

Bodedern remain rooted to the foot of the table after Mochdre seconds posted 188 for 8, Gareth Thomas taking 5 for 46.

Eirian Davies (33), Brian Jones (26) and Carwyn Thomas (21no) ran out of support as Boded were bowled out for 137.
