THERE’S a feeling of de ja vu at Farrar Road as the club once again prepares to begin its defence of the Welsh Cup (Saturday, 2pm).
The Blues were set to face Haverfordwest County last weekend until match officials called the game off less than two hours before kick off.
A club spokesman confirmed City had written to Welsh Premier League secretary John Deakin to make their feelings known.
He said: “We’re very disappointed with the match official on Saturday as both managers felt the pitch was playable and as the afternoon went on, the pitch was melting.
“It’s a shame that they were prepared to call the game off without giving it a chance.”
Looking ahead to the rescheduled cup tie, Nev Powell said: “It’s a full squad for Saturday, and Darren Moss, who could be a big player for us, will be in the squad.
“He’s a very similar player to Dave Morley and if he plays half as much for Bangor City as Morley then he will be a very good signing.”
For his part Moss, 29, is raring to go; “I look forward to helping the club move forward and repaying the fans for their obvious loyal support,” said the former Chester and Crewe utility man, who has made more than 300 league appearances.
"This is the right move at this stage of my career and I can’t wait to get on the pitch and playing for Bangor City, which undoubtedly, after speaking to some of the experienced players in the squad is the biggest and best club in the Welsh Premier League,” he added.
If they get through City face a quarter final tie at either Port Talbot Town or Caersws, to be played on February 29.
However Powell insists that his players are only focusing on Saturday’s game; he said: “It’s just a case of taking each game as it comes.
“We know what the Welsh Cup means to Bangor City supporters and we’re hoping for our 12th man to spur us on once again.”
