LLANGEFNI Town earned their first home win of the season with a 4-2 verdict over visitors Caersws.

Marc Evans went close for the hosts early on only to be denied by David Jones, who tipped the ball onto the bar.

The opener wasn’t long coming though, and when Darren Thomas broke down the right to cross for Leigh Craven in the 23rd minute, he rifled home with aplomb.

Five minutes later it was two, Thomas again providing an inch perfect ball for Evans to nod home and give Cefni a 2-0 cushion at the break.

Just seconds after the restart Thomas got a deserved goal for himself, beating the offside trap to pick up a clever chipped pass from loanee Tom Dix before rounding Jones to make it three.

This prompted the visitors to go on the offensive and in the 51st minute Ritchie Evans fired in a 30 yarder.

However any thoughts of a Caersws comeback were dispelled 15 minutes from time as Thomas was brought down by Jones and Evans converted the spotkick.

Ritchie Evans did net a late second for the visitors but Llangefni were not to be denied and picked up a deserved win and move on to Saturday’s home match against Welshpool (2pm).
