A FINE crowd of more than 300 turned out to see Llangefni produce a spirited performance against their professional opponents, who needed two penalties to get the win.
Within the first 15 minutes Llangefni were two goals to the good, the first arriving when Marc Evans was upended on the edge of the box and Craig Hutchinson buried the free kick.
Two minutes later Hutchinson doubled his tally, this time meeting a Leigh Craven corner to glance the ball home.
The Lilywhites replied controversially before half time as Rich Higham was adjudged to have handled in the area, John Leah converting the spot kick.
Marc Evans hit the bar after the restart but just after the hour, Rhyl were handed their second penalty of the afternoon as Grahame Austin and Higham challenged for a high ball, whilst Paul Mooney fell to the ground to win the foul.
Leah again scored and his side were ahead in the 72nd minute, Michael Pritchard seizing a long ball to slot home.
Moments later in a carbon copy Pritchard scored again to seal an undeserved win and Llangefni will go seeking their first home win of the season when Caersws visit this Saturday.
