THE Premier Division’s game of the round was called off, as rain meant that Bangor’s meeting with runaway league leaders Llandudno did not go ahead.

As a result Bangor stay in third place and will be looking to pick up a much needed win at Brymbo this Saturday.

Meanwhile Menai Bridge’s hopes of a top three finish were all but dashed by a losing draw at Hawarden Park.

The Castle Ground outfit put themselves into bat first, with Tom Ducker racked up an impressive 86 whilst James Hurlin added 51 as the hosts ended on 220 for 7.

After a slow start, Anthony Caddy got bridge’s fightback underway in earnest with 52, but the Anglesey side ended with 184 for 9 in 60 overs as Hawarden claimed 6 points to Bridge’s 3.

Menai are back at home on Saturday for the visit of St Asaph.

Division One

STRUGGLING Bethesda’s match at Gresford was rained off, meaning that the Gwynedd side’s next game will be at home to Llandudno seconds this Saturday.

Division Two

BOTH Menai Bridge seconds and Bangor seconds were forced to sit out the action last weekend as their fixtures were washed out.

Bridge stay top of the league narrowly ahead of Gwersyllt Park despite their home game against Northop being cancelled, and they will face St Asaph on Saturday.

Meanwhile Bangor’s visit to Dolgellau was abandoned due to persistent rain, and they need a win over visitors Brymbo on Saturday to get firmly back into the title race.

Division Four

TITLE chasing Bodedern remain in second place and on the heels of league leaders Connah’s Quay following a 9 wicket win against Corus Colours.

Having put the visitors into bat, the Presaddfed bowlers made short work of the opposition as Corus managed just 100 for 7 in 45 overs.

Barry Lander led the fightback for the hosts with an unbeaten 56 runs, and in tandem with James Jones (27) and Edward Gadsby (15 not out) led Bodedern to 102 for 1.

The Anglesey side now face a week on the sidelines, whilst Bethesda seconds, whose game at home to Gresford last Saturday was cancelled, visit Corus.

Division Five
A SEVEN wicket defeat at Buckley seconds leaves struggling Menai Bridge thirds 20 points outside of the drop zone.

Opener Sion Riley scored 39 to give the visitors a promising start but they were limited to 92 all out with Buckley’s Daz Wilcock taking 4 for 14.

In reply the hosts cruised past the needed total, reaching 93 for 3 in 24.1 overs.

Division Six

A TWENTY three run win at Corus Maeshafn keeps Bodedern seconds top of the league, although second place Llangollen seconds still have two games in hand.

Having been put into bat, Bodedern could only muster 110 all out in 44.3 overs despite the decent start being made by opener Carl Jones (28).

However the visiting bowlers then turned on the style with Leighton Williams (3 for 7 and 5 maidens), Will Jarrett (3 for 30) and Ryan Taylor (3 for 24) seeing off the opposition for just 87 all out.

Bodedern have no fixture this weekend and will be hoping that Shotton seconds can damage Llangollen’s title hopes.

Following a week on the sidelines, Anglesey Aluminium seconds got back into Division Six action at Llangollen seconds, only to lose by 127 runs.

The Tower Field outfit won the toss and opted bat, racking up 180 for 9 in 45 overs.
By way of reply Anglesey had a nightmare innings, scoring just 53 all out in a mere 19.2 innings as they were taken apart by Rees Jones (5 for 14) and Raymond Bithell (4 for 17).

The loss leaves them fourth from bottom with Rhewl the visitors to Holyhead on Saturday
