Bangor suffer heavy defeat in Europe

BANGOR City conceded eight goals as they suffered a heavy defeat in their historic Europa League third qualifying round last night.

The final score in the first leg of the tie with Estadio da Madeira was 8-2, with Nicky Ward and Eddie Jebb netting in the second half for the Citizens.

Bangor also saw Jamie Brewerton sent off for a second yellow card at the end of the first half.

 

The Madeiran team’s goals were scored by Valdecir Tcho, Baba Diawara, Liandro Danilo Dias, Philipe Fidelis and Elias Kanu.

 

The second leg takes place at The Racecourse, Wrexham, on Thursday.
