MENAI Bridge consolidated their position at the top of the Anglesey Mid Week Cricket League with an important victory over second placed Bangor.
The Island side batted first on their way to amassing 195 for 4 off their 20 overs, with notable contributions from Gethin Roberts (62), Luke Jones (46) and Gerallt Roberts (34).
Undaunted by the target, Bangor fired back and managed to reply with 163 for 5 but it wasn’t enough as Bridge increased their lead at the summit to 17 points, and Bangor have six games left to try and claw back.
Over at Presafedd Bodedern entertained Beaumaris who emerged victors by 42 runs after Dave Barker scored 46 and 16 year old Jo Simpson notched 28.
In reply the home team struggled to 65 all out with Dion Lewis and Steve Jones taking three wickets each.
