CHRIS Sharp will sit out TNS’ clash with former club Bangor City on Sunday (2.30pm) as the Saints bid for an instant return to the top of the table.
A shock defeat at Gap Connahs Quay coupled with Llanelli’s 2-0 triumph at Newtown saw a change at the top of the table last week, with long-term leaders TNS finally edged out for pole position.
However The New Saints will respect an agreement with City and resist selecting the 23-year-old striker for the Park Hall clash, having made his debut as a substitute against Connahs Quay last week.
General manager Ian Williams confirmed: “The clubs agreed during the negotiations that the player would not play in this particular fixture.
“It will be a difficult game and Bangor showed last weekend in their victory over Rhyl that they cannot be underestimated.
“However we must remain focused and the most important thing is three points and getting ourselves back on top of the table.
