BOTH Caernarfon and Llangefni had their weekend fixtures postponed due to the artic conditions, but both should return to competitive action next weekend after more than a month on the sidelines.
With the international break being followed by a period of icy weather, no matches have been contested in Division One since December 5 and there may well be a little bit of ring rust to shake off for the sides.
The Cofis, who sit second and four points behind Nant Conwy, had Saturday’s visit to Colwyn Bay called off and are now preparing for January 23 when they host Bro Ffestiniog (2.30pm k.o.).
Bro currently lie fifth in the division having won five and lost four, and with leaders Nant facing a relatively simple home match against the struggling Bay, the Royal Town outfit will need to take points off Bro to keep in the hunt.
And with the meanest defence and highest scoring attack in the league so far, Caernarfon have the means at their disposal to do so.
Llangefni also get back into action on January 23 (2.30pm k.o.) as they travel down the Llyn to take on a high flying Pwllheli side currently third in the league.
Cefni lie in seventh, eight points above the sides in the danger zone, and a win could see them leapfrog Ruthin.
Meanwhile in Division Two, Bangor’s match at bottom club Rhosllanerchrugog and Bethesda’s game at Wrexham were also called off.
