AN EXCITING new cycling event has been added to region’s sporting calendar this year.
The Tour de Mon is set to make its debut this year on September 1, and entries for the race are already open.
The race boasts four different island routes to accomodate cyclists of all abilities, with one of the routes tailor-made for families to take part.
The main race, the Tour Mawr, is set over a gruelling 100 mile course, which takes cyclists along the island’s revered coastline, and organisers Always Aim High Events are hoping the new race can attract a large following.
Tim Lloyd of Always Aim High Events said: "Of course, this is another step-up for us in terms of a business, and will mean that we can look forward to contributing still further to the local economy, supporting local suppliers and contractors, and continue to add to our growing number of staff, thus supporting local employment and ensuring that those employees are given diverse and exciting employment skills. 2012 was great, but 2013 will be even better!"
Mr Lloyd added: “We are very grateful to the partners at Cyngor Sir Ynys Mon and all of the brand partners that have helped make this new event happen.
