MENAI Bridge Tigers continued their perfect start to the Gwynedd League season with a 4-2 success at Talysarn Celts.

The promotion hopefuls turned in another superb display to make it eight successive wins to start the campaign, which leaves them sitting six points clear at the summit.

The visitors got off to the best possible start when Darren Gowans opened the scoring after just four minutes, before Tom Healy doubled their advantage soon after with 15 gone.

Things got even better for the away side on the half hour mark when Kevin Fraser found the net after another spell of pressure, but the Cekts reduced the arrears after the break through Jac Jones on 52 minutes.

Dean Redmond secured victory for the Tigers with a well-taken effort on the hour mark, with Rhys Jones notching the hosts’ other consolation late on.

Glantraeth now find themselves occupying third spot after an eye-catching 3-1 triumph at Nefyn United.

The home side broke the deadlock on 39 minutes courtesy of a Llion Jones strike, but Warren Gibbs’ side turned on the style following the setback and took the spoils thanks to Dion Williams, Andy Clarke and an own goal.

Bro Goronwy progressed in the Bob Owen Memorial Shield with a resounding 3-1 victory over Llanystumdwy.

Calum Thomas’ opener for the hosts was cancelled out by Llan starlet Sean Pierce, but a pair of late goals from Andy Williams and Connor Jones within the final seven minutes enabled them to progress.
