PENMAENMAWR Phoenix instantly benefitted from the Lundstram connection to secure a 1-0 success at Pentraeth.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two side started father Mike and son Benn Lundstram together for the first time after the former signed from Llanrwst United last week, and the pair combined for the only goal of the game in the second period to secure a vital three points that moves them into 11th spot.

The teenage sensation netted his 15th goal of the season on 47 minutes with a close-range finish after being teed up by Mike Lundstram for what proved to be the only strike of the contest.

There was no such luck for Mochdre Sports, who were on end of a 1-0 home reverse at the hands of Meliden, and Glan Conwy were unable to make inroads at the summit as they were held 2-2 by Llannerchymedd.

Division One basement dwellers Llandudno Junction were unable to pick up a much-needed victory despite taking the lead in their 2-1 home loss to Prestatyn Sports.

The Railwaymen were rewarded for a positive start in the first period when Gary Cooper took advantage of a good chance by slotting into the net, but Sports came out after the interval in completely different form thanks to some stern words at half-time from the management team.

They managed to level proceedings shortly after the restart through a thunderbolt from Ben Cawley, and things got even better for the away side soon after when Darren Cassidy was put through on goal by debutant Connor Beattie, and the gifted forward made no mistake with the finish to give his side another vital three points.

Llanrwst United’s recent slump continued as they were thrashed 7-1 at Bodedern Athletic.
