RGC full-back Dion Jones was released from hospital after suffering a neck injury in their defeat at Carmarthen Quins.

The talented back has been one of the stand-out performers for the Principality Premiership side this season, and there was real concern when he was stretchered off during the clash after receiving lengthy treatment on the field.

After being taken to a local medical facility for further assessment, RGC’s Twitter account stated that he has now been released and that “all is fine”.

Jones is another successful product of the Gogs’ thriving Academy system and has established himself as a prominent member of the senior set-up since re-joining Mark Jones’ side in the summer of 2017.

Prior to Saturday’s injury, Jones set up teammate Sam Jones for the visitors’ opening try in their eventual defeat, and he has filled the void at the 15 position vacated by Afon Bagshaw for long periods due to his involvement with the Welsh Rugby Union 7s squad.

Jones was recently nominated for Principality Premiership Try of the Week for sensational individual score at Llandovery.
