CAERNARFON Town received a huge response after launching a special campaign designed to help those in need throughout the region.

The JD Welsh Premier League side held a special foodbank collection on Friday, October 5 prior to their clash with Bala Town at The Oval, and the community initiative brought with it significant support from the loyal Canaries’ fanbase who turned out in force for the top-flight contest.

The club set up a drop off point at the Marcus Street entrance to the ground, which was open from 5.45pm right until kick-off.

All donations received will be transported to the foodbank situated within the town, and the scheme is the latest positive impact the Cofis have made on the region.

A club spokesperson, said: "As a club we are totally committed to doing everything we can to help the community in every way.

“There is a foodbank in Caernarfon and we know that the work that the staff and volunteers carry out there is invaluable to the people of the town itself and the surrounding area.

“Un Clwb is not just a motto, it means everything to us, and in fact we see ourselves as an integral part of One Community. We are fully aware of the difficulties many people have to deal with and we hope that Friday evening's mobile foodbank at the Oval will help those who need it.”
