CUP action continued in the Anglesey League this weekend as the race for the Lucas Oil trophy began.

Cefni came away as 3-1 winners from Llandegfan in a scrappy affair. Liam Griffiths poked the visitors in front just before half time to finish off a tense first 45 minutes.

Nathan Lewis then doubled their lead early on in the second half after finding space in behind the defence. Winger Justin Williams pulled one back for Llandeg but Griffiths added his second - as stunner into the top corner to see Cefni through to the next round.

Pentraeth Reserves enjoyed a fine win, beating Valley 3-2 after Extra Time. Goals from Barry Haigh and Mike Williams were not enough for the away side as Kenny Williams scored a brace to take his tally for the season to double figures and Williams Jones bagged the other as the Reserves progressed.

Meanwhile, Bryngwran Bulls cruised to a 3-0 victory over Cemaes Bay in the Dargie Cup. A hat-trick from Craig Moore, who now has 25 for the season, was enough for Richard Owen's side to claim a victory.

In the Anglesey League fixtures, another double hat-trick from Scott Hughes and a Marc Williams strike saw Arriva Bangor hammer Bodorgan 7-1 (their goal came via Luke Gardiner) and Caergybi (Marcus Bell x 2, Justin Williams x2 and James Ryan) beat Llanfairpwll 5-1 (Tom Graves).
