LLANDUDNO Junction got some much-needed minutes ahead of their return to Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One in their 7-0 loss at a strong Holywell Town side.

The Wellmen have lofty ambitions in the Huws Gray Alliance this season and opened the scoring early on when Connor Littler prodded home from close range, and they doubled their advantage soon after when Lee Davey rounded off a fine team move for the home side.

Club talisman Sam Jones added a third for the hosts midway through the first period with a superb effort that crossed the line after hitting both posts, and Davey rounded off an exceptional first half individually with his second of the afternoon to give them a four-goal cushion at the interval.

After the break saw the same pattern of play bring further success for Gareth Sudlow’s side, with the lively Jones bursting clear and finishing well for his brace.

Recent signing from Llandudno Damian Ketley made an eye-catching friendly debut for his new club in the second half, and the physical forward managed to net twice to give the Wellmen’s fan base plenty of encouragement in terms of what he can bring to the side this term.

The Railwaymen open their third-tier campaign this Saturday when they travel to Nantlle Vale.
