BANGOR City have appointed new accountants as they look to make an instant return to the JD Welsh Premier League this season.

The club announced that DBS Consultants will now be in charge of the finances at the VSM Stadium, which comes as a result of their demotion to the Huws Gray Alliance after failing to obtain an FAW Domestic Licence.

Current accountant Andy Haslam has left his role at the club, and Dilwyn Roberts has also stepped down from his position as licensing officer.

The Liverpool-based firm deal with a comprehensive range of accounts, taxation and audit services for a host of non-profit organisations and charities throughout North Wales and the North West.

They also handle company formation, identifying funding sources, starting, selling or buying a business, boosting cashflow or expanding into other markets overseas.

The move is the latest positive step from the boardroom following a summer of turmoil, which saw them refused entry into the money-spinning Europa League and Iron Bru Cup following their relegation.

This also resulted in manager Kevin Nicholson and assistant Gary Taylor-Fletcher leaving their respective positions, with only Alex Darlington remaining from last year’s senior squad.

Ambitions are high for the upcoming second tier campaign thanks to the high-profile managerial appointment of Craig Harrison and a host of impressive signings, and the club have now restructured behind-the-scenes in the hope of securing their licence should they be in a position to return to the WPL next spring.
