CONWY Borough’s incredible treble winning season has seen them scoop a national award.

The Tangerines were worthy winners of the Club of the Year at the All Wales Sport Awards ceremony, which was held in Cardiff on Thursday, June 20.

It was one of the finest campaigns in the club’s history, with manager Gareth Thomas steering them back to the Huws Gray Alliance at the first time of asking after clinching the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title in convincing fashion from Llangefni Town.

They also managed to claim the Lock Stock Cookson Cup following a series of exceptional displays, and Boro’ rounded off their historic treble with an FAW Trophy success to further enhance their growing reputation as a group.

Thomas, said: “It’s obviously another award for the fantastic season the club had last year.

“It’s an honour to win an award which is for all team sports across Wales chosen by an independent party.

“The club where delighted to win and collect the award in person in what was a superb evening for all involved.”

The Tangerines boss has made a number of eye-catching signings ahead of their return to the second tier including legendary Llandudno forward Lee Thomas, but has kept faith with the majority of the squad that contributed to their remarkable success last term in the hope they can continue their positive momentum against a higher standard of opposition.
