PRESTATYN Sports have bolstered their squad as they prepare to embark on Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One for the first time in their history.

The newly promoted side confirmed the signatures Darren Cassidy and combative midfielder Ross Hannen, who are set to strengthen their squad considerably as they look to make their presence felt in the third tier of the Welsh pyramid.

A quartet of talented youngsters will also be part of the squad for the upcoming season after signing their first ever senior forms, with big things expected of Reece Chamberlain, Samuel Duffy, Brooklyn Peakman and Sam Turner in the coming months after being given the chance to make their mark on the first team by the backroom staff.

The club also received a boost with the news that talisman Ian Griffiths has decided to remain with the set-up after turning down the chance to re-join Prestatyn Town in the Huws Gray Alliance.

Griffiths wasted no time in picking up where he left off last season, netting twice in Sports’ 3-1 friendly success at Welsh National League Division One side Rhydymwyn in what was a very encouraging display during their first outing since clinching the Division Two title.

Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ side will be one of the teams to watch as they look to continue their remarkable rise to prominence since their inception.

The likes of Llangefni Town, Llandudno Albion and Llanrug United are set to be amongst the leading contenders for the title, with home form at their Gronant base once again likely to prove crucial in any success that comes their way.
