LLANGEFNI Town produced a hugely encouraging second half display in their 4-1 loss at Llandudno.

The JD Welsh Premier League side made a ferocious start to proceedings and went ahead on seven minutes, before Iwan Williams’ men doubled their advantage after 38 with another spell of prolonged possession.

A strong finish to the half saw Tudno fire in two more to give them a comfortable four-goal cushion at the break, but Chris Roberts’ side kept plugging away during the second period and looked much livelier in the face of some stern opposition.

This brought with it a consolation goal in the closing stages when Iwan Jones struck a fierce effort after 75 minutes, Tuesday’s friendly loss followed a sensational attacking display from the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title hopefuls, who secured a thumping 10-0 friendly success over Gwynedd League promotion hopefuls Bontnewydd.

Liam Morris was the star of the show and fired in a superb hat-trick in the rout, with fellow recent signings Alan Mark Owen and Marvin Pritchard also hitting the net which will give them plenty of encouragement going forward.

Speaking after Saturday’s clash, Roberts said: “Great performance today from the lads, good to see the new lads getting on the scoresheet and playing like they’ve been with us for years.

“The young lads also did really well, to have eight first team lads missing and put in a performance like this is really exciting to see.”
