BETHESDA remain at the North Wales Cricket League Division One summit after a narrow 41-run success at Mold.

The visitors posted a modest target of 183 all out from 49 overs in the middle, with skipper Jonathan Williams leading by example to top score with 45.

Other scores of note came from Matthew Harrington and Dewi Roberts, who made 29 and 18 respectively, but home bowler Richard Crane was in sensational form throughout to finish with four wickets for the loss of 26 runs.

Richard Deniz also helped himself to three scalps in the form of Williams, Mathew Buchanan (10) and Tomos Jones to end on 3-27 from a very impressive eight-over spell.

Pesda bowlers Kevin Evans and Carwyn Williams got them off to a fantastic start by removing Crane and Thomas North for a pair of ducks, with the latter producing a phenomenal spell to also despatch Isaac Allen (2), George Deniz (41), Richard Deniz (2), Wes Gillam (6), Graham Wright (40) and Kyran Van Der Kooij (4) to end his 11 overs with outstanding figures of 7-30.

Williams also ran out Kieron Coppack late on during a crucial stage of the innings as the home side fell short and made 142 all out in reply.
