ST ASAPH City have made a notable addition to their squad with the signing of Matt Morris.

The talented player has impressed new Saints’ boss Daniel Brewerton considerably during a series of training fixtures throughout the summer, and he is another significant arrival for a club looking to improve their fortunes in what looks to be another hugely competitive Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One this term.

Morris brings a wealth of experience to the city side, and he caught the eye as part of the Rhyl squad during the early stages of the previous campaign.

Meanwhile, St Asapoh City Reserves gained a thumping 10-2 pre-season victory at Kinmel Bay, where they held a comfortable four-goal cushion at the interval thanks to efforts from Paul Jones, Lewis Thomas and a brace from Azz Elliot.

After the interval saw the Saints continue to run riot against their nearby rivals, with Shaun Walsh, Kelvin Burke (2), Kyle Sumner Lewis, Matty Williams and Charley Thorley all find the net during a rampant second period to complete the rout.

Brewerton’s men take the field for their first friendly fixture on July 17 when they welcome Llandudno Junction, and they also take on Denbigh Town, Connah’s Quay Nomads U19s, Llanuwchlyn and Denbigh Town Reserves before the real action kicks-off next month.

The club are also inviting applications for the position of goalkeeper coach, where they will join the backroom staff during training sessions and matchday warm-ups.
