PRESTATYN Town continued their preparations for the new Huws Gray Alliance season with a 2-0 home win over Llanrwst United.

The new-look Seasiders turned in another impressive display against the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title contenders, producing a blistering start which was the catalyst behind their success.

Leon Field and Ryan Turner’s men will look to build on their recent positive momentum following a turbulent summer when they welcome City of Liverpool to the Motion Finance Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

The home side made a strong start to proceedings and went ahead after just two minutes when Jack Hoult kept his composure from the penalty spot to give his side an early advantage after Chris Bennett was felled in the box.

This same pattern of play continued during the opening exchanges, and the hosts doubled their tally after 15 minutes through Dan Roberts, who netted his first goal for the club after Ben Cawley flicked on a Hoult corner.

Hoult almost trebled their advantage soon after when his effort was hack off the line by a United defender, with Kieron Ellis’ long-range effort forcing a save from the visiting goalkeeper shortly before the break.

After the interval saw the Seasiders miss a host of chances to increase their advantage, with Dave Collins, Ellis and Macauley Taylor all going close during an outstanding spell of dominance which lasted the majority of the second period.

Home custodian Ryan Woods had to be at his best to deny the Rwsters midway through the half, but the home side regained their composure and saw out the remainder of the friendly fixture in comfortable fashion to secure their first success of the pre-season.
