BANGOR City have confirmed that talented winger Luke Wall has left the club by mutual consent.

The young starlet played a huge part in the Citizens’ memorable JD Welsh Premier League campaign last term, emerging as one of the brightest prospects within the division thanks to a series of outstanding displays.

This earned the former Accrington Stanley youth product a WPL Young Player of the Year shortlisting, and despite City’s relegation to the Huws Gray Alliance Wall initially decided to stay on under trophy laden boss Craig Harrison.

Wall has now opted to depart the VSM Stadium after lengthy discussions with club officials and his agent, and he will now attempt to secure a move to a higher level of football rather than ply his trade in the second tier of the Welsh football pyramid.

A statement from the Citizens confirmed the departure on Tuesday, July 10, stating “players must want to be here” to give them the best possible chance of achieving an instant return to the top flight.

A club spokesman, said: “The football club is bigger than any individual.

“If players do not want to be here, wear the shirt with pride and fight to get this great club back to where we belong then the player should not be at the club. Players must want to be here.

“We wish Luke well and thank him for the season he had with us. We also hope that he gets an opportunity at a level he feels he should be playing at.”
