CAERNARFON turned in a fantastic batting display to come away with a convincing 235-run home victory over Llanrwst Seconds.

Cofis’ batsman Ian Morgan smashed his way to 107 to put his side in the ascendancy, with Rhodri Owen hitting 77 as the hosts posted a formidable total of 290-8.

Another valuable score came from Grant Peisley, who scored a promising 38 but was unable to reach his half century, with Callum Jones and Ian Nicholls both claiming a pair of wickets apiece for the combined loss of 86 runs.

A disastrous time in the middle saw the Rwsters all out for 55 in reply, with a 37 knock from Stuart Hughes the highlight of what was a dismal display with the bat.

Morgan matched his sensational performance with the bat by taking two wickets at the expense of just two runs, and Sameer Yusuf also claimed a brace to finish with figures of 2-13.

The result leaves the Cofis in second spot in the North Wales 2nd XI League West Division standings as they prepare for their home clash with Bethesda Seconds on Saturday.
