BANGOR City goalkeeper Matthew Hall is poised to make a sensational move to Premier League side Cardiff City.

The talented shot stopper played a pivotal role in the Citizens’ memorable campaign last season, where there finished second in the JD Welsh Premier League under Kevin Nicholson and secured European qualification.

Following their demotion to the Huws Gray Alliance after failing to obtain an FAW Domestic Licence, a number of senior squad members have decided to depart the VSM Stadium, with Hall getting another chance to prove himself at the top level after a previous spell at West Bromwich Albion.

Neil Warnock’s side are looking to re-establish themselves in the top flight after securing promotion from the SkyBet Championship, and Hall is expected to join the Bluebirds’ U23 set-up in the hope of impressing the backroom staff enough to be considered for first team football in the future.

Hall, who also reportedly turned down an offer to join Hamilton Academicals in the Scottish Championship, will become Cardiff’s fifth summer signing after the recent acquisitions of Greg Cunningham, Josh Murphy, Bobby Reid and Alex Smithies.

Although he is out of contract with City, they are expected to receive some form of compensation as the WPL Young Player of the Year nominee is under 24.

No official confirmation has been made by either party as yet, although an official announcement is expected in the coming days.
