KINMEL Bay have made further additions to their backroom staff as they look to hit the ground running on their return to the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance.

The Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League champions have lost a large number of senior squad members following the appointment of Leon Field and Ryan Turner at Prestatyn Town, but the ambitious club are vowing to fight on and have bolstered their management team ahead of what is expected to be a frantic spell of recruitment.

Manager Andy Thomas has announced that Frank Wood is coming on board in a joint-managerial capacity, while Ken Williams has also been brought in as goalkeeping coach and Billy Darwin will take on the role of assistant manager.

Midfielder Ashley Wood, who was one of the few to turn down the opportunity to play in the Huws Gray Alliance with the Seasiders, has been rewarded for his commitment after being named as first team captain.

Bay will also be forming a Reserves side for the upcoming season, which will work under Alex Craig and John Hall.

Chairman Bill Darwin, said “ First team manager Andy Thomas did a great job last season and we have now strengthened our coaching staff for this new challenge with Frank Wood joining Andy as joint manager, Billy Darwin as assistant manager, Paul Moroney as first team coach and Ken Williams as goalkeeping coach.

“All these coaches bring their vast experience and knowledge to Kinmel Bay FC. The appointment of Ashley Wood to first team captain is a popular choice and ensures strong leadership on the field.

“Together with the formation of our reserve team, under the management team of John Hall and Alex Craig, this serves to strengthen our first team even further as the club goes from strength to strength.”
