A FOOTBALL CLUB on Anglesey has seen its lock-up cabin broken into for the third time since it was re-started a year ago.

Llandegfan FC, who play in the Kon-X Anglesey League, first encountered acts of vandalism a year ago when paint was splashed all over the changing room walls.

Over the past two weeks, club officials have arrived at the cabin to find the lock on the door broken on two separate occasions.

They also noticed that one of their goal nets had appeared to have been cut down the middle by a sharp object and further writing had been scribbled on the walls.

Player-Manager Jordan Love re-started the club last season after his village had been without one for over four years.

Speaking on the acts of vandalism at the club's Lon Ty Newydd field, Jordan, who hit seven goals for the club last season, said: "Im extremely angry and sad to see that we have been targeted again.

"Exactly a year ago this week, we started the process of fixing all the damages that occurred from the last set of kids who destroyed the cabins and the goals.

"It really does anger me and leaves me thinking what is the point in putting so much time, money and effort into setting this up. We had so much drive for this upcoming season."

Jordan added that "hundreds of pounds" has already been spent to try and help the community have a football team.

"We have worked tirelessly day and night, especially club secretary Dale Rowlands, who spends his evenings at the field," he said.

"This is a massive set back for the club as we were looking to push forward for the coming season.

"However, I can assure you, Llandegfan will fight through this. We will find funds and we will grow as a team and as a community and this will not stop us."

The manager added that the culprits will be caught and that those involved should "give their heads a shake" and "realise that they're destroying a true community club."

Jordan's dad, William, who has also put a lot of effort into getting Llandegfan back up and running added: "As a club we have had a difficult year trying to maintain the changing facilities and yet again it’s been vandalised.

"We are now watching the field and surrounding area closely."

The club has reported the incidents to the Police in the hope that the culprits will be caught before they can strike again.

It's been a tough year for 'Llandeg' both off and on the pitch as they finished bottom of the Anglesey League last season with just three points.

However, the club has already began training sessions, set-up pre-season friendlies and recruited new players ahead of what they hope will be a much better campaign during 2018/19.
