CAERNARFON Town manager Sean Eardley has focused on the attacking end of the field during his initial moves in the transfer market as they prepare for a return to the JD Welsh Premier League.

The four new faces all possess the necessary skills to compete at the highest level of the Welsh pyramid, and sports reporter Dean Jones gives his thoughts on each new signing below.

Ben Maher (Prestatyn Town):

Maher is an energetic midfielder who does his very beat work in the final third of the field. He has incredible vision despite his young age and this is sure to benefit the formidable front three of Jamie Breese, Darren Thomas and Danny Brookwell.

He was one of the standout performers for the Seasiders last season despite their struggles, and his JD Welsh Premier League experience will be a useful asset for Eardley to have for their eagerly anticipated return to the top flight.

Maher is sure to become an instant favourite with the passionate Cofi Army given his desire to go forward, and he is more than capable of coming up with moments of magic that could pick up some valuable points throughout the season.

Sion Bradley (Porthmadog):

Bradley has long been considered as one of the best players operating outside of the WPL, and his signature represents a significant coup for the Cofis given the fact that he was not short of offers from elsewhere before he left Port.

He is a very accomplished passer of the ball who has a steady and consistent influence on proceedings at almost every opportunity, and although the move to the top flight represents another step up in class, few would bet on Bradley making a serious impact for the Canaries as they look to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with.

Ross Stephens (Prestatyn Town):

Stephens is another who has a great deal of experienced that is going to benefit the squad considerably, with the cultured midfielder coming with a big reputation and is exactly the type of player Eardley has targeted since taking over from Iwan Williams.

He likes to get the ball down and play the right way with a quick tempo, and he is also a very useful asset to have on set-pieces which has brought considerable rewards throughout his career.

The Town midfield is absolutely stacked with quality playmakers, so it will be up to Stephens to force his way into the starting line-up to enable him to make an impression at the earliest opportunity.

Cai Jones (Porthmadog):

Jones is no stranger to The Oval having turned out for the club in the past, and getting the physical presence back on board can only be a good thing going forward.

He is a big, strong and imposing figure that offers something a little bit different to what they already have, and his ability in the air will be another key component in any success he has during his second spell with the club.

Another eye-catching part of Jones’ game is his hold up play, which will offer relief during difficult stages of games while also bringing others into play.
