BANGOR City star Luke Wall has been rewarded for an exceptional season with a prestigious award.

The talented winger was one of the key contributors during a hugely successful campaign under departed manager Kevin Nicholson, where they finished runners-up and achieved European qualification prior to their demotion to the second tier.

He managed to beat out teammates Matthew Hall and Dean Rittenberg to the award, with The New Saints of Oswestry Town’s Tom Hall also on the shortlist.

Nicholson, said: “I am delighted for Luke on winning the Welsh Premier League Young Player of the Season award for 2017/18.

“He is a talented young player who I thoroughly enjoyed working with during my time at Bangor City FC.”

There was further success for Wall as he was named in the top flight team of the season, rounding off a memorable double for the highly touted prospect who is sure to attract an enormous amount of attention this summer following City’s relegation to the Huws Gray Alliance.

Two other Citizens’ managed to make it into the coveted line-up, with defender Danny Holmes and midfielder Danny Gosset also selected thanks to their sterling efforts throughout the campaign.

Holmes has since departed the VSM Stadium to remain in the WPL with ambitious Connah’s Quay Nomads, while Gosset also looked to have played his final game for the club as he sets his sights on a possible return to the professional game in England.

The Wales C international is spending the week training at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium complex with the V9 Academy, which has been set-up by England international and Premier League winner Jamie Vardy for a select group of gifted players looking to get back in the Football League.

Gosset is looking to impress scouts at the facility and earn another professional deal after two years with the Citizens.
