CONWY Borough manager Gareth Thomas has received a further boost as four more squad members have re-committed to the club.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One champions are readying themselves for a return to the Huws Gray Alliance after a one-season stay in the third tier, and the Tangerines confirmed that Cory Williams, Guto Hughes, skipper Iolo Hughes and Adam Whitlock have signed extensions at Y Morfa.

Williams, who has also represented Colwyn Bay, Caernarfon Town and Rhyl during an impressive young career to date, was hampered by injuries last term but gave Boro a huge boost with his return thanks to a series of outstanding displays that contributed significantly to their success.

The captain was a resolute presence at the back for the FAW Trophy winners throughout a memorable campaign, which saw him further enhance his reputation as one of the best organisers operating in the region.

Full-back Guto Hughes is another that is expected to feature heavily as they look to re-establish themselves in the second tier, while Whitlock’s presence within the squad is another welcome addition.

The club also confirmed that Lee Jones has agreed to take on the position of assistant club secretary following a long-standing association with the set-up.

Chairman Chris Wilton, said: “Lee is a true club stalwart, he played for the juniors and has been a lifelong supporter.

“He will be a valuable addition to the administrative team and we are delighted to have him involved.”
