BANGOR City will find out their FAW Domestic Licence fate this week.

The Citizens’ appeal hearing will take place on Thursday, April 26, and if they are not successful then they will be demoted to the Huws Gray Alliance.

Also facing expulsion from the JD Welsh Premier League are Connah’s Quay, who also failed with their initial application and looking at the prospect of second tier football next term.

Ironically, the pair are embroiled in a fight for second spot in the top-flight standings that is heading into the final round of fixtures, and their pursuit of European qualification would be rendered obsolete unless they are successful with their respective appeals.

City have been in discussions with officials at the Football Association of Wales in regard to why they failed their first licence application, and have been working hard over the last fortnight to ensure their appeal will be granted.

Manager Kevin Nicholson, who has enjoyed a fantastic first season in charge, and stated that he is “hopeful” ahead of the appeal hearing.
